Sometimes, I just love people.
The mad genius behind projects like the “Emergency Party Button” and an internet-connected Christmas tree had a problem:
“Have a cat that won’t stay off your counters? I do. I finally got fed up with it enough to do something about it: scare the crap out of him with a motion-detecting blender (while recording the results for my own amusement, of course).”
The result? A project called the Blender Defender.
The “Blender Defender” is essentially a motion-triggered switch that does the following when a cat jumps on the countertop:
- Turns on a blender
- Fires off a strobe light
- Emails a video of the cat freaking out
The videos of the cat are well-worth the roughly $200 of assembled tech and programming elbow grease that the designer expended to bring this all together.
If there were a “Veritrope.com Technology Award”, we’d have our first winner! đŸ˜‰
